Boog Brown was honored as Emcee of the Year by WRFG FM 89.3 in Atlanta. In September 2010, Atlanta artist/poet/emcee Boog Brown came together with Detroit producer Apollo Brown to create Brown Study, 13 tracks of vintage East Coast beats and soulful boom rap that was as powerful and compelling as anything released last year. For both parties involved — each relative newcomers — it was both an introduction and a breakthrough with the up-and-coming producer employing resonant bass lines, coarse horn samples and gritty drums to create cinematic backdrops for Boog to unleash her remarkably dexterous flow and compelling lyrics. The pairing was perfect, and the album ended up turning a lot of heads in underground hip hop.
